Christine B. Lange

I offer services that can enhance your child's education and help you navigate the special education system. I have products including communication boards, picture and word schedules, token systems, and a variety of other products and strategies that can help your child succeed.

I have been tutoring children in grades K-12 since 1985.  My specialty is teaching reading and writing. I am certified to teach a variety of research-based reading programs, including Level I Wilson Reading Instructor Certification. I am also certified to teach a host of writing programs that are researched-based, including but not limited to, the University of Kansas Learning Strategies.

I have a B.A. in English (East Carolina University - 1991) and a Master in Education (NC State University - 2006) focusing on Special Education, Learning Diabilities. I teach in a Wake County high school and focus on reading decoding and comprehension skills as well as Introduction to High School Writing. I have also taught ninth grade Resource English and Curriculum Assistance classes. I work primarily with students with Learning Disabilities (Special Ed K-12), but I'm also licensed in North Carolina to work with students who are Intellectually Disabled - mild (Special Ed K-12). I also hold a license to teach Literacy (General Education K-12). I am a formerly licensed Sign Language Interpreter with 20 years experience in North Carolina. I have also taught and continue to teach sign language classes in the community for families and other interested individuals.

Last but not least, I have a great deal of experience with children with Autism as my son has high functioning autism. Through him, I have learned how to navigate in his world and with him, I have helped him to navigate in our world. He has been my biggest inspiration for Literacy and Language, Inc.
